Our Experience
The Viscusi Group: An Introduction
The Viscusi Group is a boutique search practice established in 1985. We are hired to recruit potential candidates, provide advice on who to hire, and facilitate making that hire happen. We provide the delicate yet critical skill of attracting the candidate that interests our clients.
As the liasion in the recruiting process, we handle the most difficult aspects of attracting a potential candidate for our clients. We ask the questions about compensation, benefits, and career goals. We attempt to find out where else a candidate may be interviewing and what salary expectations the candidate has—leaving our clients with a crystal picture of all the vital information on their candidate.
For each client, Viscusi develops a specialized target list from which to recruit and launch an intensive research program. The research extends into different companies to identify individuals in these organizations with the most appropriate backgrounds. The Viscusi Group entices candidates to meet and interview with our clients by conveying the attractive career opportunities, exceptional products, and the increase in base earnings available at their new potential place of employment. An increase in income over opportunity is the primary motivating factor in most candidates' decisions to make the move.
Throughout the search process, Viscusi keep our clients and the candidates up to date on the status of the search while providing caring, incisive direction. We know how important it is to select the right candidate to join your company in a timely fashion. That is why Viscusi is meticulously careful to ensure we understand your unique needs and concerns. We work quickly and efficiently to identify and present appropriate executives and successfully complete the recruitment process in better than industry average time.
The Viscusi Group is a retainer-based executive search practice. We are not a contingency agency. Contingency agencies often discover that a position is open in the industry through word of mouth. This occurs after The Viscusi Group has already placed calls to prospective candidates and sources. Our clients might receive “unsolicited” resumes from one or several of these contingency agencies. Often, these candidates have already been contacted by us. We recommend our clients reject unsolicited resumes to avoid a duplicate obligation to both The Viscusi Group and a contingency agency
.
We accept only a limited number of assignments at any given time to assure that all clients receive our full attention.
The Viscusi Interview
“The Viscusi Group Interview” is based on years of experience in the field interviewing potential candidates. Each recruiter is trained to identify the right chemistry which will match our clients’ specific corporate culture while keeping in mind the reality of income and benefits. That initial interview with The Viscusi Group partnered with common sense, intuition, and fact-checking lead to the recommendation for a client/candidate interview—these recommendations are not based on the resume alone. Other factors for recommending an interview may include having met with the candidate at a juncture unrelated to this specific search, or the quality of the recommender or source. As resumes are sent to our clients, it must be kept in mind that each resume reflects a much larger quantity of individuals that have been pre-screened. The “recommendation” for a client/candidate interview represents most of what our clients hire The Viscusi Group for—not the resume itself.
